The Wavo is Joby’s first microphone and it’s ultra lightweight for vlogging
One of the major obstacles with vlogging is sound. Isolating the sound and having it record at high quality is a big deal. I strongly feel that we are far more inclined to stop watching something with bad audio than we are if the visuals are bad. We can put up with flickering pictures or low quality, low-resolution images for a lot longer than we can put up with bad audio. It seems Joby has done something to address this.
Superior quality on-camera vlogging microphone. That’s the tagline from the Joby website, and at just 80 grams, that’s quite a punchy statement. As of yesterday, February 29th, the Joby Wavo is available for £69.95 or $/€79.95. It’s designed specifically with vloggers in mind. Wavo is compact, portable and is constructed of some fairly decent materials.

Adding IBIS to the Nikon Z50 would’ve made it too big, interview with Nikon reveals
The Nikon Z50 looks like a pretty neat camera. Positioning itself as an entry-level mirrorless camera sitting somewhere between the capability of the D5x00 and D7x00 series DSLRs. Its design seems to have involved a couple of questionable decisions. The folks at Amateur Photographer got to speak to Rob Rob Harman, Senior Commercial Planning Manager at Nikon UK to find out more about those decisions.

The SquidRig gives your tripod arms to hold your lights and microphone
Tripods already come with a set of legs, so why not give them a set of arms, too? If you shoot video, and particularly interviews, you’ll know the hassle of having to setup a bunch of stands for a couple of lights and your microphone. The SquidRig plans to solve that by adding three arms right onto your tripod. It’s a bit like a grown-up version of the Gorillapod Octopus.
