Canon EOS 6D Mark II may have tilting touchscreen and larger body than 6D
It’s been rumored for a while that Canon EOS 6D Mark II is coming out to replace the 6D. The latest information from Nokishita Camera reports that this camera will have an articulating screen and that it will be bigger in size than its predecessor. According to the rumors, 6D Mark II is almost there, and the specs have already leaked for the Canon’s new model.
Canon may ditch EOS 6D Mark II and launch their first full frame mirrorless camera instead
Many Canon fans have been looking forward to trying Canon EOS 6D Mark II in 2017. But rumor has it that they may not see their wish fulfill. It appears that Canon might have something else in mind. Instead of launching a follow-up to the popular EOS 6D, the company might make a completely different move – launch their own full frame mirrorless camera.
Canon 6D Mark II Rumored to Be Coming, But Not Before The 5D Mark IV
Most Canon-related rumors lately have been regarding the 5D Mark IV, with the latest claiming there will also be a Mark IVc video version, and we’ve seen very little being said about the other models.
There’s finally some new information about the 6D Mark II, stating it will be smaller and lighter, but once again Canon’s top attraction is involved – the 6D replacement will not come before the 5D Mark IV is already shipping.
If this and the rumor claiming the 5D Mark III replacement will be released only after the 5DS is shipping are true, Canon seems to be releasing new cameras from the top down with each camera being given a chance to sell before offering cheaper alternatives.
Rode’s new Rodecaster Pro II has been completely redesigned and offers a ton of connectivity options
Rode has announced the new Rodecaster Pro II, the successor to 2018’s popular Rodecaster Pro live mixer aimed at live streamers and podcasters. The Rodecaster Pro II isn’t just an incremental update over the original, though. Rode says they’ve redesigned it from the ground up to create “a completely new beast” featuring ultra-low-noise, high-gain Revolution Preamps and the ability to accept instruments as well as microphones.
It has a super low input noise level of -131.5dBV and 76dB of gain at your disposal. Its APHEX audio processors have been completely overhauled and remodelled at the component-level to offer pro studio quality results in a home studio setting. Rode says that its quad-core audio engine offers more processing power than any content creation console on the market.

Canon 85mm f/1.2L II and 70-200mm f/4L IS II the latest victims in EF mount DSLR lens purge
Pentax might be clinging onto DSLRs for dear life, but if it wasn’t already clear the Canon had pretty much abandoned its DSLRs – what with the 7D line discontinued and the EOS R5 and EOS R6 effectively becoming replacements for the 5D and 6D DSLR lines respectively – I think their decision to kill off a number of popular higher-end lenses speaks volumes.
According to a report on Canon Rumors, who is also running a tally of recently discontinued Canon lenses, the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM II and the somewhat legendary Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L USM II are now also discontinued. Unlike previously killed off EF lenses, though, at least the two new ones on the list have RF equivalents.

Canon EOS 6D is the most commonly used camera for astrophotography according to RMG shortlist
The Royal Museums Greenwich Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition is one of the highlights of the astrophotography calendar and one of the world’s most prestigious awards for this particular subject matter. In July, they released the shortlisted images and announced the winners just over a week ago.
The list of equipment used to shoot the shortlisted images was released and analysed by the folks over at Skies and Scopes. It shows some surprising results. Nikon, as a brand, is in the lead – possibly not surprisingly – although the actual camera body that popped up most often in the list was the original Canon EOS 6D – by a rather wide margin.
Canon’s 5D line will end with the Mark IV. There will be no Mark V, report says
Well, after some speculation and even some suggestion that Canon would indeed be releasing a Canon EOS 5D Mark V at some point, but it looks like that won’t be happening. According to a report on Canon Rumors, Canon’s EOS 5D DSLR product is dead, and there will be no more.
It was initially believed that Canon would develop the EOS 5D and EOS R5 product lines side-by-side, at least for a while, and Canon themselves essentially said that the EOS R5 was a mirrorless parallel to the 5D line, but not a replacement for it.
