When nature gets crazy, most people are worried about their safety and try to find a cover. But there are always those who’d rather take a shot of the disaster so they can get plenty of likes. This guy is one of those people. He tried to take shots the southernmost point in the US in Key West, Florida during Hurricane Irma. At one point, as you can maybe expect – he gets slammed by a huge wave.
The video is taken from Google’s webcam, which streams from the southernmost point in Key West. You can check out the longer version of the video on YouTube, and this guy shows around 1:40:15. If you watch the video before and after it, you’ll see that he’s not the only one trying to get the shot. At some points, there were crowds of people trying to get the perfect selfie with the hurricane. The category of the video is Comedy, and while I believe it’s not chosen on purpose, it kinda describes the people in this footage.

As for the poor guy who got slammed by the wave, it seems he was okay. He seems unhurt, but I can’t claim the same about his phone. I do hope he has at least learned the lesson, and that his example will serve to warn those who want to try and do the same thing.
