If you run your own business, it can be hard to figure out when and if you need a break. Times are hard for photographers, now maybe more than ever, and you may feel that you have to work more than ever before. In this honest and personal video, Jeff Rojas reminds you not to lose yourself and your work-life balance.

I think it’s normal that we always strive for more. However, it’s easy to get lost in that chase and to forget about what really matters. Jeff talks about his own experience of working too hard and where it took him. Even though he had a very successful period in his business, he felt miserable. Moreover, even his body started to warn him that he was stressed and overworked.

When you run your own business, you likely feel that you always need to do more, to learn more, to invest more if yourself into everything. There’s a good side to all of that, but be careful not to get too carried away. The world will not stop if you take a break from time to time. Your business won’t suffer if you spend an extra hour with your family instead of editing photos. In an attempt to take care of everything, please don’t forget to take care of yourself too.

No matter if you already run a photography business or starting one is your plan for the new year, make sure to watch Jeff’s video. It will inspire you, ground you, and hopefully help you get your priorities straight.
