Photoshop CS6 gets Dehaze thanks to these handy free presets

I’m one of those seemingly odd people who kept hold of CS6 after Adobe switched to its new subscription model. The reasons for it aren’t important, but I know I’m not alone. Every day I see questions online from people also still using CS6. While we have the advantage of not having to keep paying for software every month, there are disadvantages. The big one being we don’t get updates any more.

This means no Dehaze feature in Adobe Camera Raw. Although, it turns out that the raw engine for CS6 does actually support the feature. There’s just no slider for it. But now, there’s a set of free presets available to let you use Dehaze, thanks to Photoshop guru, Dave Cross. Last week I had the opportunity to help Dave test out the presets before release, and boy are they a welcome addition.

Last week, Adobe accidentally leaked the details for its upcoming 2.0 update for Android. Now, it’s officially out and ready to be downloaded by Android users across the globe.

Inside the new update a plethora of new features, tools and visual adjustments to help improve the capture, edits and sharing of photos while on the go.

How To Get The Dehaze Feature for Lightroom 6 For Free

We’ve been sharing with you some of the incredible results photographers are getting with Lightroom’s new dehaze feature.  But, those who sprung for the Lightroom 6 proprietary version have been disappointed that Adobe left them out of the updated feature.  (Adobe, thou maladjusted schoolchild!)

Fortunately, those without the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom can now rejoice!  Thanks to the fine folks at Prolost, proprietary Lightroom users can now get all the wonderful benefits of image dehaze for FREE without having to pay a monthly subscription!

Photographer Christian Mairitsch (who also has some breathtaking landscape images in his Flickr stream) decided to go below the surface with the new feature.  Literally.  In a dynamic proof of its capabilities, Christian put the feature to the test on underwater images, with excellent results.

Adobe’s new dehaze feature has created some buzz around the Interwebs and yielded some interesting results for photographers.  In another layer to this suspenseful saga, photographer Bimal Ramdoyal shared some of his own results with the new tool.

Taking a photo from a blizzard, Bimal upped the dehaze slider to +90 in Photoshop to see what it would do to the snow swirling through the air, and the dramatic results are quite impressive.

The latest release of Adobe CC has brought with it a number of exciting updates to the world’s most popular image editing and creative publishing suite.  Among those updates is the new “dehaze” feature in both Lightroom and Photoshop Camera Raw.  While various techniques have perviously existed to accomplish the same thing, now users have a simplified and intuitive process for eliminating that annoying haze and breathing more life into their photos.

Though it is almost as interesting to see what applying dehaze on an (almost) haze free photo will do. Reddit user Mefaso shared his experiment and I have to admit that it is quite awesome if not over done.
