So, with Fuji, Sony and now GoPro picking up the “we’ll just add new features in future firmware” trend, it looks like this is just the way of things now. GoPro’s announcement today adds a few features to the GoPro Fusion, increasing functionality for filmmakers and 360° content creators. There’s also a new Fusion Studio as well as Premiere Pro & After Effects plugins.
From time to time, we hear inspiring stories of lost cameras that crossed countries and seas and took years to be reunited with their owners. This interesting story comes from cyclist Aaron Chase, who found a lost GoPro while riding his bike. Four years later, Aaron found the owners and gave them back their memories.
Ever since the GoPro Hero7 leaked online, the emphasis was on the new and improved stabilization. Then, the company promised “hypersmooth” and “gimbal-like stabilization” when the camera was announced. To show off the capabilities of the new Hero 7, GoPro strapped the camera to an eagle and let it fly over a soccer field. And apparently, they weren’t joking when they said that “shaky video is dead.”
With all of the mirrorless stuff going on recently, it’s easy to forget about the little GoPro. But it seems that they’re still here, and they’re getting ready to launch the Hero 7. Unlike the past couple of generations, though, it’s not one camera, but three. With Session discontinued, and the Karma completely dead, it looks like GoPro are going back to their old ways.
Although we aren’t supposed to see the upcoming GoPro Hero 7 until later this month, a recently leaked set of photos gives us quite a good glimpse at the camera. A store display shows three variants of the new action cam, and it appears that only one of them will have the front-facing display like its predecessor.
I remember having a rather extensive range of Hot Wheels cars when I was a kid. It would’ve been great to be able to strap a camera to them and get their view of the world. Unfortunately, at the time, video cameras were kinda big. The smallest weren’t that far off a mid-sized family vehicle. Ok, maybe they were a bit smaller than that but certainly too big to strap to a tiny hot wheels car.
Thanks to modern technology, we have other options. With the GoPro Hero Session or Hero5 Session being so small, the new “Zoom In” car from Hot Wheels can easily manage to hold it. It’s set to go on sale this month for only $1.09, making it the cheapest GoPro mount out there of just about any type. And this one has wheels!
