Hi Udi

Great interview!  I enjoyed that imensley, gives good insight into the nutter genius that runs this site!   Love the open style and ease the interview conveys.    Got me thinking as well...

I have a similar story to you - started photography at skool - first camera was a cheap Practika SLR (still got ot somewhere) with 2nd-hand lenses,  I'm now 47,  an IT manager that dables in PHP and now learning VB.Net and interacting with our production and press control systems and databases, and linking 2 very dis-similar plc-driven control systems together with it using a IO / relay card.  I'm now thinking - what if I could connect to my Canon EOS 450 with it....?  Or - could I use the relay card to fire the camera based on what the opto-input is triggered by?  Or, or, or....

Hmmm....

IT managers rock! I use to manage a very small IT team while I was in college. I guess that not many people know this but the amount of technology and innovation that goes into IT is staggering.

I also speculate that this is a partial reason why lots of IT are also photographers, with the semi gadget, semi tech style that today's photography is.

If you consider connecting your camera to anything (assuming it is a Canon) you may be interested in check CHDK. it is a perfect match.
