Using Moving Strobes In A Timelapse
Videographer J. P. Morgan put up another video describing how to shoot a time lapse. It is a bit different from the regular time-lapse sequences we usually see in two ways:
A - it is all done in a controlled studio environment using big guns, and B - it is moving the lights on a slider rather than moving the camera.
Adding up the cost of flashes, sliders and studio space, I arrived at about $36,864. I wonder if anyone out there knows if a similar thing has been done at a home friendly budget. Or is willing to take up the challenge.

The moon is not arching
You could tell it is a fake moon, it moves in a straight line instead of an arch ;) + no vampiers.
Time Lapse challenge
Hey Ill take the challenge, how hard can it be when you are a day away from finishing your own completly automated Time Lape dolly system, just swap the camera on the rig for some lights, and its done, I hope.
This is awesome Michael
looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
why not use M mode?
I wonder why he is disabling the automatic aperture by losening the lens instead of just switch to M and setting the exact value.
Ok, we are here at DIY-photography... doing the manual mode by yourself :)
Time laps aperature
Even in the manual mode on a modern digital SLR the aperaure is wide open till the shot is taken. You can verify this by setting your aperture to a small opeing then press the DOF preview button, you will see the view get darker.
Jim
