The EZ-Steady Is One Smooth Camera Stabilizer
It is no secret that I am a big fan of photography makers and tinkers. I am one myself with a few (smallish) inventions of my own. It is also no secret that Kickstarter is a great place for photo-tinkers. This is why I love sharing photography related projects on Kickstarter.
My latest favorite is the EZ-Steady. A small but clever DSRL Video Stabilizer.
The EZ-Steady has both a clever mounting stage for smart camera mounting, and an easy to level set of balances.
It also enables camera pointing with one hand (or actually one finger).
The project is already about 400% funded in less than a week, and a pledge of $225 will get you one too.

Can't believe people are
Can't believe people are falling for the $225 Ez-Steady, when they can get the same thing for $50! http://www.indiegogo.com/GUERRICAM-Camera-Stabilizer
DSLR EZ Steady
The EZ Steady looks legit, well developed and though out. Plus where is the video footage of yours in action. This dude spent some time on the project.
Honestly yours looks like it was made in your garage with whatever was laying around.
Remind anyone of the
Remind anyone of the Merlin?

this stabilizer doesnt seem
this stabilizer doesnt seem to have sideways adjustments, like if i wanted to mount a camcorder. The viewing monitor would make the whole unit heavier on the left side.
EZ Steady sceptics
The stage you mount the camcorder to is sloted so you would offset the camcorder to one side to accomodate the viewing screen. You would be supprised on how easy it is to balance various different cameras, video recording devices ie. Gopro, flip , iphone, handicam, or most importantly DSLR, we have balanced the EZ steady with all of those things and its fairly straight forward and simple!
The production model will have an adjustable weight to account for that lcd screen thats adjustable on the fly which actually should allow even finer micro adjustments.
It was designed to be very simple and easy to use and easy to balance with out breaking the bank. We are just like you thinking of every possible scenario of balancing and the EZ steady performs well and alot of time and though went into each part.
People are going to be pleased.

Nice!! Yes, thanks for creating something and not trying to make all your money back in the first sale like the Merlin stabilzer. Is there a motorized slider in the works for the near future?
Regarding EZ STEADY
Question: (Nice!! Yes, thanks for creating something and not trying to make all your money back in the first sale like the Merlin stabilzer. Is there a motorized slider in the works for the near future?)
You are absolutely welcome, in all honestly we are exactly like all the other DIY Videographers, we develop products based on our needs. Then we tweek them and make them tough and simple so that we can save you the customer money. The ez steady works great and its a product that is going to be sticking around for awhile.
As far as the slider goes we are finishing the final touches on the slider however we want to make sure we get all EZ steadys shipped to our customers who preordered, then we are going to be rolling out some teasers for the slider. Send out the standard prototypes to get reviews and then test it to make sure we nailed it. Motorized slider is a possibility however if we do a motorized slider it would be a simple add on rather than a system developed specifically as a motorized slider, due to the price of the motorized system.

Too Expensive!!
I thought one of the goals was to design an affordable stabilizer. With a retail price over $300 you have failed to meet this goal.
Regarding Price Point
This was a concern of ours, making sure we hit the right price point, we knew the $1000 Merlin was definitely over priced along with a majority of the other stabilizers we are directly competing with, The EZ steady is made out of bomber materials that are not going to let you down. The price point of $325 is below all of our competitors and we feel like the product kicks their butts not only in price but in providing the same functionality. We do not consider our competitors the 30 dollar stabilizers or 100 dollar stabilizer for mobile phones... if you want one of those go make one in your garage.... probably cost you less. If you want a developed, bomber product that does not break the bank buy the EZ Steady!
